TERA - - TERA End-Game Gear Sets Guide

03/08/2013 14:59:27

While leveling up is a big part of TERA, getting to level 60 is just the beginning of end-game. Once you make it, it's time to start working on getting good (and better) gear. What we're going to focus on here is the actual end-game gear and how to obtain it.

When we look at end-game gear, there are essentially two different sets that fit the criteria. These are the Regent's set (PvE) and Visionmaker set (PvP). It's worth noting that the Visionmaker set can also be used for PvE, although it will be slightly behind the Regent's when it comes to min/maxing your character.

Regent's Set

All of the parts for this set come from Shandra Manaya, the Argon Queen, located within Manaya's Core. These items have a low drop rate, but they are bind-on-equip so they can be purchased as well as farmed. A chart showing the pieces you will need for each class is below:

This set is craft-only and is bind-on-pickup. It is obtained by getting materials from Bellicarium, Agnitor, Manaya's Core and using them on recipes found within Fane of Kaprima (Hard Mode) and Argon Corpus (Hard Mode).

What's After?

The first step you'll want to do once you finish your set (or you can do this after each piece) is to get it to +12. This requires masterworking it first, followed by enchanting. If you wish to use this gear for progression farming, you can start enchanting it first, and then worry about the masterworking once it is all +9. This allows you to use the enchanted gear to farm the gold and fodder for additional enchantments, as well as Enigmatic scrolls.

Once all of the gear is +12, you are ready to start "rolling stats," should you choose to do so. This is done to get the perfect stats, although it really deals more with min/maxing. Just by having +12 gear, you should be more than fine, unless you are attempting to squeeze out every bit of DPS and defense you possibly can. If this is your goal, the steps are as follows:

  • Use a Master Enigmatic Scroll. This will allow you to re-seal your items, but you will need to use Spellbind to choose which stats you wish to keep (the amount used for keeping 1-3 stats are as follows: 14, 28 and 56)

  • Use an Intricate Identification Scroll to roll the new stats

  • Keep repeating this until you have all the stats you want

As you can see, much like with the enchanting process, this can get quite expensive. For this reason, it's best to leave it for when you've already taken care of everything else and you are looking for things to spend money on. At that point you'll have the money to burn, and prior it's really not worth doing. You are perfectly fine even without getting all your desired stats.

Preparing for the Future

Once you've got all your gear to as good as it can possibly get, it's time to look forward to the future. It's hard to tell exactly what will be required for future tiers of gear (T15 and up), but there are a few things you can start on now that will help better prepare.

  • Farm Master Enigmatic Scrolls and Spellbind. This will help speed up the process once you've got your new gear, as well as cut down on the amount of farming that's required later

  • Go for gold! This will allow you to spend more money obtaining new gear and fodder right after it comes out, thereby allowing you to gear up even quicker

  • Help friends and guild members (if applicable) get maxed out as well. This helps build relationships and also increases the number of players you can farm the latest and greatest gear with once it's released!

Concluding Thoughts

For the more hardcore player, there is a lot of stuff here that will help with making your character as powerful as it can be. If you happen to be on the casual side, however, you can get along pretty well with the Regent's Set. While it's pretty expensive, the gold can be earned over time and the set will more than last you, even when the next set is released. If you'd rather not go that far, though, you can also do pretty well with a T13 +9 set, which should get you through all of the current content without too many problems.
